Meet the Founders

Alicia Thomas (Right), Ashley Thomas (Left)

Ashley and Alicia Thomas are sisters who grew up in Jacksonville, Florida with a passion for education. Growing up, they knew their goal was higher education as they both aspire to become doctors. This later inspired them to found R.I.S.E. Scholars Inc. after experiencing their own challenges pursuing their careers.

After entering an unprecedented space such as college, they saw and experienced how a lack of resources can lower confidence and opportunity. Through their struggles, they wanted to help young people in their community go after their dreams with the support and knowledge needed.

They are both recent graduates of the University of Central Florida where they received their Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Sciences and were pre-med students. For their last two-years at UCF they were mentors and worked closely with students with learning disabilities.
